Avant Debuts Active MixCubes

11.20.2009

2009-11-20-avantUpland, CA (November 20, 2009)--Avant Electronics has debuted its active MixCubes. Each MixCube incorporates a Class A/B amplifier module, which reportedly exhibits low noise and distortions specs (.005 percent THD @ 1 kHz). Rated at 60 watts RMS per box, they provide solid operating headroom.

Glen Heffner, VP of global sales and marketing at Avant, comments, "Passive MixCubes have been recognized worldwide as the standard for full-range mini monitors. Now, we have taken it further by incorporating an amazing-sounding amplifier along with many other features with our new active MixCubes."

The active MixCubes retain the cube shape as in the passive version. Features on the back of the actives include a detented System Gain knob along with a Ground Lift switch, an illuminated On/Off switch, combo-style 1/4-inch/XLR input jack plus an aluminum heat sink with smooth, rounded edges.

Heffner adds, "MixCubes are a serious tool. They were designed to make sure mixes translate well onto 'bass-challenged' playback systems such as iPod docking stations, computer speakers, televisions, car radios, smart phones and many other media formats prevalent in today's multimedia world."
