News EAW to Celebrate Silver Anniversary at AES Convention Whitinsville, MA (October 9, 2003)--This year's AES show will mark the 25th anniversary of EAW in the professional audio industry. Since its founding in 1978, when EAW first appeared at the 61st AES Convention, the company has introduced literally hundreds of successful loudspeaker products and has grown to become one of the most influential and respected manufacturers of professional audio products in the world. For the upcoming AES show, EAW will celebrate its silver anniversary in style both at, and away from, the booth. The celebration begins with a special 25th anniversary Trivia Contest to be held at the EAW booth (#412) at 5 p.m. every day of the show (October 10-13) as well as at noon on October 11, 12 and 13. Seven lucky attendees will have a chance to walk away with a limited-edition 25th anniversary black leather jacket by simply showing their expertise and knowledge of EAW facts and history. Also at the booth will be live product demos of EAW's new Digitally Steered Array (DSA) Series and DSAPilot software as well as demos of SIA Software's latest version of SmaartLive. The DSA demonstrations will led by Mike Maynard, application support group manager, and Dave Gunness, director of research and development. These demonstrations will cover design path and development of the DSA system, as well as provide an operational insight into the steering capabilities of the system and a tour of the DSAPilot software. Jamie Anderson, product/market manager for SIA, will conduct demonstrations of SmaartLive 5, which will cover the fundamentals of setting up a measurement rig and using SmaartLive to make basic RTA, spectrograph, transfer function and impulse response measurements. The demo will also include the unveiling of the new SmaartLive interface for the DSA Series. Gunness will also chair two white paper discussions at this year's show. The first, titled, "Implementation of a Wide-Bandwidth, Digitally Steered Array," is co-presented by Nathan Butler, design engineer at EAW. The presentation occurs on Friday, October 10 from 2-4 p.m. The second paper, titled, "Practical Benefits and Limitations of Digitally Steered Arrays," is co-presented by Bill Hoy, project engineer at EAW. The presentation occurs on Friday, October 10 from 3:30-5 p.m. Away from the booth, EAW will host an exclusive invitation-only Silver Anniversary Bash at the renovated, newly opened nightclub, Avalon New York City on Friday, October 10 at 7 p.m. Home of the former Limelight Club, Avalon NYC is the sister location to Avalon Boston, the namesake to EAW's performance club loudspeaker system. EAW's at-booth presentation schedule is as follows: Friday, October 10 Saturday, October 11 Sunday, October 12 Monday, October 13 Eastern Acoustic Works |
