Earthworks Busy With Seminars, Performances

New York City (October 10-13, 2003)--Earthworks is offering a plethora of convention activity in the form of seminars and artist performances. Here's a quick checklist of what's going on:

Day 1

Earthworks' exhibitor seminar titled, "It's About Time, David Blackmer's Time Coherent Model of Human Hearing," will take place in Room 3D05, on Friday, October 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. This presentation will detail the mechanisms involved in human hearing and a definition of our model of human hearing. It includes a manifesto of sorts: Earthworks claims that impulse response and time accuracy are an important part of how people hear and Time Coherent response will deliver lifelike sonic results.

Carolyn Martin, lead singer of the Nashville-based Time Jumpers, will perform at Earthworks Demo Room 2D11 at noon on Friday. Reproducing her performance will be a real test of Earthworks' ability to reproduce the sound of reality.

Day 2

Ken Hatfield, a world-class guitarist who works in many styles, will perform with Hans Glawischnig on standup bass, at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Earthworks Demo Room 2D11.

Day 3

Yuri Naumov, a Russian blues guitarist, will perform at noon on Sunday at Earthworks Demo Room 2D11.
