News Meyer Sound Promotes McVeigh Berkeley, CA (October 27, 2003)--Meyer Sound Laboratories has promoted Greg McVeigh to the newly created position of vice president sales/special projects. He will be working closely with touring productions to aid them in handling the technical and logistical challenges touring always presents. McVeigh has worked in the audio industry for many years, coming to Meyer Sound in 1995. In his time at Meyer Sound, McVeigh has come to appreciate the value of the company providing significant direct support for tours utilizing Meyer Sound products. The move is a natural one, McVeigh feels, "Meyer Sound has always worked closely with tour sound efforts worldwide. In 2001, we began to formulate a factory-direct approach while involved with Dido, Travis and Barenaked Ladies tours. This new position formalizes the effort." In 2003, McVeigh shepherded relationships between Meyer Sound, Audio Analysts and the Norah Jones tour, which relied on MILO high-power, curvilinear array loudspeakers to bring Jones' sound to audiences. Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound executive vice president, emphasizes the strategic importance of McVeigh's new position, saying, "Touring sound reinforcement is an important part of Meyer Sound's business, so we are pleased to have Greg focusing his extensive knowledge of the field in that area. Greg was a key contributor to the success of the last Norah Jones tour, and we are looking forward to him expanding his efforts to ensure that major acts like Barenaked Ladies and others get the best possible performance from Meyer Sound products in the venues they play." In addition to the direct support, McVeigh will offer tours, he will also bring back to Meyer Sound feedback and suggestions based on input from customers and his own experience. Meyer Sound |
