Octiv Delivers Volume Logic for iTunes

Berkeley, CA (October 27, 2003)--Octiv has released the Volume Logic, the first audio plug-in available for use with Apple's iTunes player. The Volume Logic plug-in runs on Mac OS X and provides real-time digital remastering for improved quality of sound. It is available through a public beta program that runs until December 31, 2003.

Anything playing in iTunes, including MP3s, AACs, Internet radio or CDs, can be digitally remastered for consistent volume level and spectral balance using the Volume Logic. Low levels are intelligently raised and loud signals are kept under control, all in real time. The plug-in incorporates a 5-band dynamics processor that examines and adjusts the audio thousands of times a second. Files are not scanned or modified. All the audio processing takes place in real time, while the audio is sent to your speakers or headphones.

Octiv was able to make its audio processing technology compatible with iTunes by working with Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack technology that enables the recording of audio from any application. Rogue Amoeba offers a line of Audio Hijack audio capture utilities for consumers as well.
