News Surround Professional Item of the Day New York City (October 27, 2003)--The EastWest/Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Sample Library was recorded where orchestral instruments sound their most natural--in a concert-hall environment. The recordings were made using custom-built recording equipment by Professor Keith O. Johnson, recipient of two Grammys, plus eight additional Grammy nominations for his 90-plus classical recordings. This is the first orchestral sample library to include three simultaneous stereo mic positions (close, stage and hall), so users can mix together any combination of these mic positions (a virtual audio zoom) to control the natural ambience of the concert hall. All of the players were recorded in position. All of the instruments and sections were chromatically sampled, with multiple dynamics, with dynamic and expressive articulations. Each volume (strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion) come as a virtual instrument, which includes a high-performance Kompakt Sample Player from Native Instruments for MAC and PC. List price is $2,995 for the complete set, $995 for Volumes 1, 2 or 3, and $495 for Volume 4. EastWest Sounds Online |
