Shane Morris.
Northridge, CA (March 24, 2008)--Harman Pro North America (HPNA) has expanded its support personnel by appointing Shane Morris as principal engineer for Soundcraft and Studer's digital console offerings.

Although Morris is primarily tasked with providing technical sales, engineering and support for sound reinforcement customers using Soundcraft Vi Series and Studer Vista Series consoles, he also serves as a resource for both brands' broadcast client base as well.

Morris comes to Soundcraft and Studer with more than three decades of pro audio industry experience, initially starting out in his native Australia designing and building mixing consoles and power amplifiers. Upon moving to the U.K. in 1978, he accepted a position with Soundcraft, then in London, as international service manager, eventually relocating to Los Angeles to accept the role of technical manager for Soundcraft USA during its early '80s years in Santa Monica.

Following his tenure there, Morris spent a short time with Apogee Digital Electronics in L.A. before returning to Australia where he supported the newly formed Fairlight ESP digital audio workstation. Having also designed products for both Audio Analysts and ATI over the years, Morris most recently was employed as a U.S. technical sales and support engineer for DiGiCo.

"Shane is a brilliant 'point person' to champion and support our digital console ranges," notes Nick Owen, HPNA vice president of sales. "Over the past 30 years, not only has he amassed a tremendous amount of real-world sound reinforcement experience and knowledge, but he's also forged close relationships with many of the world's top touring companies and engineers. We're overjoyed to have him back on our team and are already seeing our digital console presence here in the U.S. grow thanks, in part, to his contributions and expertise."

When asked what brought about his return to Soundcraft and Studer, Morris points out, "The technology, surface and ergonomics of these consoles are largely what have drawn me back, as well as the opportunity to again work with people that appreciate my input and recognize what we will be able to do together."
