Fan, who has accrued numerous high-profile credits for Asian pop stars such as Wu Bai, Mayday and Jolin Tsai, also recorded portions of Bob James Live At Brown Sugar Taipei. Fan studied recording in the U.S. in the late 1980s, and spent a year at NRG Studios in Los Angeles. He returned to Taiwan to engineer at Life Recording Studio for 10 years, and opened his original Yohu Studio in Taipei in 2006. "Our offices in Beijing, Mexico City, Switzerland, Argentina and Brazil are active on a variety of projects, and we are very pleased to have been invited to design this studio in Taiwan," says WDSG principal John Storyk. "At just under 600 square feet, Kenny Fan's new studio will have a footprint similar to a number of small, powerful facilities we recently completed in New York City. These 'Vest Pocket' studios take advantage of compact new digital mixing consoles and cost-effective acoustical treatments to provide their clients with extremely flexible recording and mixing options." "I have been fortunate to have built a strong following in Asia," Fan said. "When the time came for me to upgrade my studio, I wanted to offer my clients a world-class facility. I have followed their work for many years and am very pleased to have the first WSDG-designed studio in Taiwan." Fan's new Yohu Studio is planned for completion in the summer of 2008. It will be based around the Digidesign ICON D-Control console and will feature Pro Tools|HD and Barefoot MM27 and Yamaha NS-10 monitors. The WSDG project supervisor is NY-based Romina Larregina.
